Elizabeth Seckman

This is me. I was born Elizabeth Merry Hartman on August 5, 1969. (Yes, I just got busted sneaking a peak at a Christmas present.)

I was born in Ohio and moved to West Virginia when I was less than two weeks old. My uncle (funny, funny guy) made the observation that it was a shame to turn a Buckeye into a Grit.

Hence the childhood nickname...Grit...a name that has spawned more questions than the White House Press Corps.
I grew up in Middlebourne W.V.  It's a tiny town. It has no red lights. No fast food. It's the kind of town where everyone knows everybody. And in my youth...I hated that. Especially when my mom would go for her mail* at the post office and spend her morning catching up on gossip and hearing all about what happened over the weekend. When she got back and Elizabeth Merry were the first words out of her mouth, I knew I was on lock down for at least a week.
*there was no home delivery back in the day

Happily, happily...I went off to college at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. There I was a resident advisor. The boss warned us, "Get used to living in a fish bowl and be accountable for your every behavior"...I was good to go...I was used to small town, glass house living!  I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Counseling and Rehabilitation, went to work at Youth Services System Inc. moved to New Martinsville and got married to my husband Chad, all in the same week.

The Coulter Men series begins with Tres!
Coulter Men Book 1

Jenna Austin is a young, widowed artist raising a teenage son on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. As the costs of living in paradise rise, she struggles to make ends meet. Life isn't easy, but she manages.
When her car breaks down, she trudges on. She assumes life can't get any more complicated than it is. But it can...
Chance brings her nose to well-formed chest with Tres Coulter, the handsome, affluent aid to Governor Hunt. Jenna and Tres share a history; they also share a love they thought long lost.  Their lives are about to be altered forever as the deceptions of the past transform the very foundation of the present.
The price of happily ever after may be too steep to pay once the past comes due.

The middle child bad boy, Craig!

Coulter Men Book 2

Ditched at the altar…biopsied for cancer…
Mollie Hinkle is having a bona fide bitch of a summer. When life sucks so hard it takes your breath away, what's a girl to do?

Pack a bag, grab a few friends, and leave the past and the worry in the rear view mirror. What wounds can’t be healed by a drive across the Heartland, where quarter flips at cross roads determine the route and the future?

All roads lead to Craig, the second son and bad boy of the haughty Coulter line. Has fate brought her to the miniscule Montana town to find happily ever after or will it just break her heart? “Healing Summer” is the second book in the Coulter Men Series.
The final Coulter brother, Trip!
Coulter Men Book 3

Trip is tired of living in the shadows.

His life is turned upside down when he quits his tech job and signs up with black ops. His sizzling hot, super bossy girlfriend puts her foot down and demands that Trip abandon his ideas of adventure.

Trip wants to follow his heart. He wants to live a life filled with excitement, not computer codes.

Enter Jane. She's more than happy to encourage his dreams. She's had a crush on him since...well, since she escaped to America to avoid the Gulag.

Jane is a mild mannered cleaning lady by trade; a Russian mafia princess by birth. She's got Trip in her cross hairs, and she'd risk everything, even her life, to make her dreams come true and create a reality she is certain Fate Intended.

The Next Generation: Tanner
The Coulter Men Book 4

Tanner Coulter and Jo Harper come from two different worlds. He's a rich party boy. She's a poor genius girl.
When a family crisis makes them neighbors, the attraction is immediate and unwanted. Jo is reasonable enough to know- guys like Tanner are best kept in the friend zone.
But as the summer sun heats up along the shores of the Outer Banks, so does the attraction between them.
Can they defy reason and find true love?

Historical romance
Bella has the spirit of Scarlet O'Hara and the heart of Melanie Wilkes. A former debutante surviving in the fallen South....

Isabella Troy Stanley is a divorced, slave freeing pariah surviving in the shattered post Civil War south the only way a fallen debutante knows how. She heads to a Yankee prison and buys herself a husband.

Jack Byron is the former Troy plantation stable boy and object of young Bella’s affection. He rejected her then, and he’s still not sold on the idea of marrying her now. Sure, she’s pretty, but he remembers too well how even a glance in her direction got a man of his standing ridden out of town with a semi-friendly warning. No, Jack’s more sensible now, not to mention he might still be betrothed to another woman.

It’s complicated.

Though to Bella, it’s simple: make Jack love her, marry her, and live happily ever after. The plan seems to work…at least until her secret is revealed.
